No Drake

Dallas Drake is not on the ice this morning as the Red Wings work through their morning skate. Drake injured his knee in a collision with Ottawa's Dany Heatley, Saturday. The extent of Drake's injury is unknown, but Heatley's separated shoulder will keep him out 4-6 weeks.
It looks like Aaron Downey will be in the lineup after being a healthy scratch that past three games.
Here's the morning skate lines ...

Filppula-Datsyuk-Holmstrom
Hudler-Zetterberg-Cleary
Draper-Franzen-Samuelsson
Downey-Kopecky-Maltby
Lidstrom-Rafalski
Kronwall-Lilja
Lebda-Chelios
Osgood (starts)
Hasek
Ellis (healthy scratch)

Dallas Drake has really surprised me this season. When I found out that the Wings signed him I was excited that we finally had an fighter to get more people to watch but then I started to really watch him out there. He's a very effective fore checker and is much faster than I gave him credit for. I think he can bring some more heart to the team come playoff time this year and yes, some more grit.

On an unrelated note, is there any void you see the Red Wings filling at the deadline this March?

I don't see any pressing need (compared with the rest of the NHL), but the Red Wings have a lot of cap space. This team is like me with money. They spend. They don't save.
I'd guess a forward would be the most likely position to spend on with defense next.
