Wednesday practice

POST-PRACTICE UPDATE: Kirk Maltby (hamstring) is not ready for Game 1. He said after practice that he'd like another couple of practices before he's ready. It looks like Helm-McCarty-Drake is the fourth line for sure for tomorrow's Game 1.

Pavel Datsyuk is on the ice right now for the Red Wings' practice at Joe Louis Arena. He missed yesterday's session with the flu.
Defenseman Brad Stuart is not with the team right now. He flew home to California to be at the birth of his second child.
Wearing the grey sweaters -- players likely to be scratched -- are Mark Hartigan, Kirk Maltby and Aaron Downey.
Jonathan Ericsson is practicing with the Red Wings instead of with the Grand Rapids call-ups for the second straight day.

Here are the lines they're working out of ...

Datsyuk-Zetterberg-Holmstrom
Franzen-FIlppula-Samuelsson
Hudler-Draper-Cleary
Drake-Helm-McCarty
Maltby-Hartigan-Downey

Lidstrom-Rafalski
Kronwall-Lilja (subbing for Stuart)
Lebda-Chelios
Ericsson-Meech

Osgood
Hasek
Howard

I have a feeling that Ericsson is practicing with the starters in case Stuart isn't back in town for game 1 because of the birth of his second child.

I really liked the Hudler-Helm-McCarty line.

So has abdelkader basically been worked out of the equation of even playing this post-season? one moment its a maybe, and playing with the "a-squad," and now he is with the practice squad- the Griffins?
