Red Wings' Thursday practice
The Red Wings have just taken the ice at Joe Louis Arena. The only players not on the ice are Valtteri Filppula and Kris Draper. Filppula hasn't practiced in a week but hasn't missed any game action.

Isn't Draper's wife having their third child today......
Bruce, I don't know how you feel, but I would like to see Abs (how us at Michigan State know him by)/ Abbie (as those at the Red Wings like to call him) get into a game. He, I think, could give them a spark, as he possesses a lot of skill, as well as quite a bit of speed. What do you think about inserting Abdelkader in?
I would also want to see him instead of McCarty but Babcock would never do that
