Cleary could play Game 1
Dan Cleary, who left today's practice after a friendly-fire check by Niklas Kronwall, might be well enough to play in Thursday's Game 1 against the Columbus Blue Jackets, according to general manager Ken Holland.
Teams don't divulge injury information especially during the post-season. But Holland said that Cleary is "day-to-day". Cleary could skate in Wednesday's practice. His status for Game 1 will be determined after Thursday's morning skate.
"It's a minor, minor injury," said Holland. "There's a chance he could be in Thursday."

Thanks for updates, Bruce. Much appreciated!
Good to see you back, Bruce.
As I looked at the lines that you reported seeing in practice, I wondered if Babcock has decided that Franzen is more Hossa than Holmstrom. Do you think that he has recognized that Franzen is more effective skating than jockeying for position in front of the opposition net. It seems like the Ciccarelli/Holmstrom role of goalie-screener/shot-deflector/cross-check taker/garbage-goal maker has fallen more to Cleary lately. And he's done it very well.
It's seemed to me that, although Franzen is big and strong, he's also got great moves when he skates with the puck on his stick. And perhaps those talents were going to waste posted up in front of the crease.
welcome back! Please bring us more information when you get it. You were missed.
