Can someone please look into this for me. At the end of game 1, the announcer stated Franzen received a hard slash. But we didn't see it on tv. I looked for him during the post game celebration, but didn't see him. And now we are told that he is not playing due to "concussion like symtoms". Any chance this is a cover story for a broken bone resulting from the slash?

I was just about to ask that as well. There are some rumors making the rounds on the fan forums that are resulting in a whole lot of panic at the moment.

I believe it is a headache that is keeping Franzen off the ice. The slash was by Winchester (Brad, not Charles Emerson) near the end of Game 1. Having seen it in person, I'm sure that it hurt, but I'd be surprised if it kept him out of the lineup.
I don't know about the test results yet. They're being done in Detroit today. I'll post something as soon as they let us know.
