With all do respect to Hossa I think it is a great signing. Don't the Wings risk losing great prospects in the future? Quincy, and Ericsson? I know Ericcson doesn't need to be signed till next year but they really need to look at some of these guys and realize that they are the future. Do you really want to risk letting that go?
Quincey and Ericsson don't count as "great prospects." They are marginal. I dont think many have Quincey rated higher than the 5th defensiveman on any roster and more likely a 6-7. Ericsson has a little more upside but probably as a 3-4 at best.
Hossa is a first line 100 point winger who ALSO plays defense.
You gotta put these things in perspective.
