Datsyuk on Z's wing

They're on the ice for the morning skate right now and guess what ... Pavel Datsyuk is working on Henrik Zetterberg's left wing. Maybe that's just for show and Datsyuk will center his own line in Game 5 tonight. maybe that's the way it's going to be. The knee-jerk reaction is that Datsyuk would play at center to give the Wings he and Zetterberg to match up against Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin.

Then again, it worked out fine last year when Zetterberg and Datsyuk played on the same line.

Practice lines ...

Datsyuk-Zetterberg-Franzen
Holmstrom-Filppula-Hossa
Hudler-Helm-Samuelsson
Leino-Draper-Maltby

Lidstrom-Chelios
Kronwall-Stuart
Ericsson-Lebda

Note that Dan Cleary and Brian Rafalski are not on the ice. I'd assume that both will be in the lineup tonight. Chris Chelios is a placeholder for Rafalski. If Cleary is in the lineup, I'd assume either Leino or Maltby would be scratched, but that's just a guess.

Bruce, any indication if it's a mobility issue that might have him leaning away from playing center?

Players have to step up tonight. A healthy Wings team would absolutely destroy these peabrains from Pitt. For the sake of hockey humanity, please do not allow the name of that crybaby Crosby on Lord Precious.

Come on Babby, get these guys to play.

Bruce,

I assume you saw him in practice. How did he look? Does he look like somebody that can play 18-20 minutes and make a significant difference or does he look more like a 12-15 minute guy.

It seems like everybody is expecting him to make a big difference but I worry if that's too much to expect.

What are your thoughts?

Hi Athtar. Saw him at the morning skate. How can you tell if someone's going 15 or 18 minutes from that, I don't know. They run through a few drills. Datsyuk looked fine. We'll see how he looks when Orpik hits him or he has to dangle through traffic.
