McLennan suspended

Calgary goalie Jamie McLennan was suspended for five games for his slash on Johan Franzen in Game 5. Calgary coach Jim Playfair was fined $25,000 and the Flames organization was fined $100,000.

While I agree that McLennan should have been suspended and I am glad he was, my initial reaction was, big deal. How is suspending the backup goaltender going to impact the Flames? Langkow and/or Iginla should have been suspended too.
