Morning skate Game 1 vs. Toronto

The Red Wings are warming up, just about to start their morning skate at Joe Louis Arena. The good news is that Tomas Holmstrom, who said yesterday that his injured foot was feeling much better, is on the ice. With Homer in the lineup, the Red Wings are at full health other than Chris Chelios (leg). Holmstrom was hobbled after blocking a shot in Sunday's preseason finale and missed Tuesday's practice. He returned to the ice, Wednesday.

Here are the lines they're working out of right now ...

Holmstrom-Datsyuk-Hossa
Franzen-Zetterberg-Hudler
Cleary-Filppula-Samuelsson
Kopecky-Draper-Maltby

Listrom-Rafalski
Kronwall-Stuart
Lebda-Lilja
Meech-Quincey (scratches)

Osgood (starts)
Conklin

Toronto will be on the ice in an hour, but here are the probable lines for the Maple Leafs ...

Tlusty-Grabovski-Hagman
Blake-Antropov-Ponikarovsky
Steen-Moore-Kulemin
Mitchell-Stajan-Mayers

Schenn-Kaberle
Kubina-Colaiacovo
Van Ryn-Frogren

Toskala (starts)
Joseph

On one hand you've got the Detroit lineup which seriously looks like an All Star roster, or about as close as you can get in the post-lockout era. On the other hand Toronto's lineup looks like something straight out of the AHL (minus a few bright spots here and there).

It's a great time to be a Wing's fan. We better all enjoy this season because there's no telling who does and doesn't resign.

there are 9 Stanley Cups on our 4th line!

has this ever happened before? Bruce, i figure you have the numbers somewhere at your disposal. did the Oilers dynasty of the '80s have their 4th line together for most of the years? the Canadiens in the '70s? Islanders?

and our first defense pair has 7! it really is good to be a Wings fan.
