OK, so Leino wasn't called up
Apparently the Grand Rapids PR staff sent out a press release too quickly. Ville Leino wasn't recalled from the Griffins by Detroit. He won't be with the team in Los Angeles tomorrow night. The move was even posted on the American Hockey League site this morning before being taken down.
My guess is that the Red Wings are planning on calling up Leino, talked with Grand Rapids about doing so, but have to wait for certain procedures to be finished before putting Johan Franzen on long-term injured reserve. Without the LTIR, there isn't salary cap room to fit Leino on the Detroit roster.
So, the Red Wings now have 12 healthy forwards including Kirk Maltby and Darren McCarty.

with another win for Conklin, do you think he will be getting more starts?
Neither goaltender has really been outstanding or outplaying the other by a wide margin. Osgood will most likely continue to be "the guy" at least for now unless he really falters
