Bruce, I need three more wins. One by Detroit. 2 from Hershey. That's all I am saying until Wednesday. We'll see where we're at.
Just want to check in and say hey since last night and tuesday night I'll be in the bowels of my own ice rink. Bruce: keep it real and do what you do for the fans and the Wings. I will not be able to watch until some time in the 3rd period, IF our game does not go to overtime. We could potentially close out the calder cup earlier Tuesday (game time 7pm). I'm going to try to convince my coaches to drink their Biere de Gardiens (feature Hasek, Osgood, Sawchuck) during their interviews if both teams win Tuesday.
Something else I'd like to know about and am infuriated by: why, when the Wings are up 3-2. Datsyuk has returned to re-ignite the Wings and we are looking at an elimination game on Tuesday, possibly.... is the front page article on NHL.com "Jordan Staal's amazing story, all the way to game six!"WTF?Did that not happen? Did Bettman bet the farm in Vegas? Why is he so adamant that the Guins get wins. Maybe we should change our name to WWHL.I want to know why front page is a personal Penguins story and not a team Detroit story? Maybe they only hire journalists who failed to attain a degree?
Last thought, and only to elaborate on the previous one: The other headlines on the NHL page's highlighted quick news is "Fleury Shakes off Game 5", "Forgettable Night for Pens", "Pens Must Regroup" and last "One Win Away", and in that last selection, they discuss the idea of the teams being one game away from winning/elimination more so than talk about the Wings directly.Oh well. Let's bring it. Prove that we can do this. Bring home the bowls.
